An Escape with Vox

An Escape with Vox

Here's another awesomeThursday calling for the weekend. Oh, gosh I need an escape...where I could chase "Vox" while the zephyre carefully blows away my long, black hair to the top of the Son Tra mountain.  "You always sound gooey", said Vox. Little did they know that I'm the best daydreamer!

My alarm clock kicked me out of my bunk at 5am. Yes, that was too early as I had to get my nose to the books for today's lessons. Instead of picking up my school bag, my muddy tripod wickedly caught my attention as if "he" was telling me to run away with him. "I wish I could, my dear", I cried. The reality of life is harsh especially when your backpack, passport and tripod are at the corner bored and uneasy. Well, before I bowl the freshmen's minds over, I just want to butter up myself with the thought that in the next few weeks,  I'm going to  hit the salt fields in the north.

Wishin you all a wonderful day!

My Nasty Gumboots

My Nasty Gumboots

Teachers are supposed to keep their nose clean in front of their students. But how do you define proper "behaviour"? Look at me, I got two piercings on my right ear, and I thought it was rough to get such stuff. Imagine having a visible, reddish henna tattoo on your right ankle after a week wandering around Kuala Lumpur?

Hey, I wear loose-fitting shirts and jeans with my favorite pairs of flats or chucks to school. But sometimes I feel like instructors who wear short "kilts" and dresses look more nasty because they seem to be distracting young adults' attention-if you got what I meant. Well, I think I'm too casual though which isn't cool either.  In my opinion, attitude is more important than any attire in front of the sophomores. Say, if you wear a "tutu", make sure you won't keep pulling it down while scribbling the alphabet on the white board. In case of blue jeans, shirts with flat sling-backs, and sneakers are admissible,  as long as you don't look ruggish and  sound boorish.

So, I guess dress code isn't a big deal especially in the field of teaching "grown ups". Most companies require their employees to wear business casual at work. Personally, I am not in favor with this obsolete idea, because the more I feel "awkward" with what I'm "donned", the less productive I could be. This might be some of my " lamest" excuses for being too "blithe" on stage. But believe me, it makes a huge difference painting your own wall of fashion style.

My First Day in Fschool

First Day in Fschool

I felt like smashing the hardest, impenetrable glass door in the libray when "she" told me that I didn't have to teach the first period today. What? "Don't you know that I woke up at 5am just to prepare for the lessons?" And do I have to tell her that I couldn't sleep until 3am? Honestly, I got butterflies in my stomach when I saw the innocent faces of those high school students. "Em chao co", said the boy in blue and red stripes polo shirt. The simple greeting from this neophyte was enough to start my day.  They were very friendly and they were kinda excited to know how long had I been in their country. "Bye, they said that I didn't have to teach you today", I gracefully soared up with a chuckle. "Oh why...where are you going?", they curiosly asked. All I could do was leave the room and started venting out in Blogger. Well, I have an 815am class and I'd better get going now. I still thank God for that indeed, a "good morning"! Haha...

Being Tomothy

Being Tomothy

Soar high like the eagles Tim as soon as the first glitz of the wee hour bobs up from its crib. As you continue your walk with Him, strength be upon you to bless more of His people in this city.  So, before the tick of the dawn walls off my tired eyes and my dampened, dopey head, I exultantly get down on my knees and entreat that you embrace His goodness and mercy for the weeks ahead. I have been grateful to have known you, and to be one of those who are always included in your prayers. God loves you so much...take care.

The Guy "behind" the Baseball Bat

The Guy "behind" the Baseball Bat

Yvette told me this afternoon, that you have already gone back to Thailand...awww I miss you my lovely friend. I just want to tell you that,  you were the only guy who believed that I wasn't Vietnamese. When you sincerely said that, my spirit suddenly collided on a duned, fuchsia cotton candy of "miracles". Hope to see you someday...whether by destiny or by "fate"...somewhere the edges of the ruddy, crackling railways in Bangkok.

You're incomparable! God bless you Jesse!

P/S: If you want to know more about how you gave me an awesome impression that day,  please check one of my posts in August entitled: "For Jesse".

Her Salmon Buggy

Her Salmon Buggy

Sisay, you've just gotten the most "bewitching" two-wheeler ever! Right, she's one of the toughest  and peerless women I have ever met. Let me tell you a short story about how our souls met.

Uhmmm we never thought God would bring us together as we didn't have any admirable "jogs" three years ago when we came to Vietnam, though we "dug" for the same university. When  I moved to Ha Noi, we didn't have any "buddy-buddy" small talks either because I was "biffed" by intimidating gossips from people who had grudges against her.

Since Da Nang, where she's been working for two years now is my "home", I always make time to hit the town during my "own sweet times". A few months ago, it was my adventitious fate to know her better, and I was glad knowing how close  she  is to Him. She isn't only a dedicated mom to her kids, but also faithful to the Lord. Her everyday emotional struggles are nothing compared to the most furious thunderstorm wandering around the Pacific.

She's simply awesome and her ruddy, "buggy" will take her to a much more gleeful and colourful rides of life. Love you sisay...drive safely!
